O’Carolan’s Tune - Galway Ghost Hunt was a project I created while completing an internship with Haunted Planet Studios, Dublin. Haunted Planet Studios are the created of the Haunted Planet Ghost Hunt app, which uses aural and visual Augmented Reality to create ghost hunt games that you play on location, via your smartphone.

O’Carolan’s Tune - Galway Ghost Hunt was commissioned by Galway Early Music Festival and was launched as part of the 2014 festival. The game introduces the Irish harper Turlough O’Carolan, whose last tune has been stolen. The player has to move around Galway City, interacting with ghostly figures from the past, to locate the lost tune and return it to O’Carolan.

The app transforms the player’s phone into a ghost-hunting device that allows you to scan your surroundings for ghostly activity, capture ghosts within the phone by photographing them, and interact with supernatural sound and voices.
